Zimpli Kids’ Gelli Baff and Slime Baff close in on whopping 1 billion YouTube views as sales soar 300% on 2015
Going viral isn’t simple, but Zimpli Kids is closing in on a mind blowing 1 billion YouTube views on videos featuring it’s popular bath play products.
Gelli Baff and Slime Baff have become online sensations with some of the video streaming site’s biggest child stars, and as the views continue to rise, so do sales - up a whopping 300 per cent on 2015.
So what makes these products such a hit with YouTubers and viewers? Eejay Enyi, Head of Sales at Zimpli Kids, says it’s all about transparency.
“You can see on the kids’ faces that their reactions - which are all positive - are genuine,” she says. “YouTube is a very transparent and open platform, and that is part of what makes kids enjoy the videos so much. People watch them because they aren’t actors, they’re truly having a great time.”
Zimpli Kids noticed that videos featuring its products were drawing viewers in swathes. It now works with more than 300 YouTubers from all over the world, and it’s videos are frequently the personality’s most popular posts.
Toys AndMe - one of the best-known toy review channels - currently has two videos featuring Slime Baff and Gelli Baff in its top six videos, accounting for more than 90 million views alone.
“What makes the videos for Gelli Baff and Slime Baff different from many other toy videos is that you can recreate the same play experience affordably at home,” added Eejay. “So what kids see and enjoy watching so much on YouTube, they can then buy one or two packs of Slime Baff or Gelli Baff, and have the same amount of fun themselves.”
With more YouTube activity to come, this viral traction looks set to see sales continue to soar.
