Nicola Jenkins joins as Head of UKI Marketing, bringing 17 years’ experience to the role

Tomy has signed Nicola Jenkins as Head of UKI Marketing to expand its growing senior management team.

Nicola joins from video game publisher Electronic Arts, where she was International Marketing Manager for eight years, working with The Sims, SimCity, Hasbro and Harry Potter, among other franchises.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining Tomy,” Nicola said. “Obviously Tomy are one of the world’s leading toy companies that have historically concentrated on pre-school. Now, however there are very exciting plans to increase the trading footprint and market share. We have some outstanding new products that I believe will really shake up the marketplace. And, of course, in our traditional market place we go from strength to strength.”

Nicola has a strong track record, spanning a 17-year career in both retail led and direct to consumer sales across a broad spectrum of industries, including video games, FMCG and consumer durables. She has strong digital, analytical and strategic planning credentials. Tomy says her background and skills will be crucial to its development in new toy and game arenas.

Nicola is already well versed in Tomy products, thanks to her two-year-old daughter Neve, who she says “is into everything and loving the discovery of Tomy with both Lamaze (her favourite) and Aquadoodle right now, and will be laughing along at our pre-school games, such as Greedy Granny, soon enough”.

Nicola added: “Also keen play testers are my older nieces and nephews who are always keen to get involved in product development plans and are uber excited at the new Lightseekers range as they are normally glued to their phones anyway! All in all a very tough audience but getting a thumbs up approval for the range so far!”

Nicola joined the company in March and is very quickly stamping her personality and expertise on the marketing and growth strategy for 2017.
