Consumer demand soars for WowWee’s robotic Fingerlings monkey toys as company outlines further 2017 launch plans

April has seen consumers going bananas for WowWee’s recently launched adorable Fingerling animated robotic monkeys.

Distributed in the UK by Jazwares, the launch was supported with a TV campaign, in-store demonstrations, social media and PR, all creating a whirlwind of demand, resulting in Fingerlings monkeys flying off the shelves.

Bolstering consumer awareness further, YouTube star Tiana from Toys and Me will be featuring Fingerlings on her channel this summer. The Fingerlings product range will also expand later this year to include fun playsets.

Michael Yanofsky of WowWee said: “We are very excited to be working alongside Jazwares UK to bring what looks to be one of the hottest items that the UK toy market will see in 2017! Initial sales have exceeded both WowWee’s and all of our retail partners’ expectations. We aim to carry this momentum all the way through this Q4 and beyond with product refreshes, exclusive colours, new form factors and playsets. We are hopeful that this will become a marquee brand for years to come.”

Working closely with WowWee to launch the range in the UK, Jazwares UK MD, Jonny Taylor, added: “We are thrilled to be working with WowWee in the UK. They have a very strong product line-up this year. We are delighted with Fingerlings sales to date, consumer demand has been exceptionally strong. We are also very excited about Chippies. After the success of Chip last year we expect the lower price point puppy version to be a hit!”

In addition to the successful Fingerlings line, WowWee has further detailed the launch plans for its other 2017 products, designed  to excite, delight, teach and wow. Introducing Chippies, BotSquad, Magnaflex, and Turbo Dave, your personal Minion into the UK, WowWee’s and Jazwares’ plans include in-store partnerships, YouTube campaigns, TV advertising and all-round PR activity.

BotSquad, two interactive robot construction vehicles will be available from summer. Turbo Dave, your own personal Minion will launch in June in time for the Despicable Me 3 film premiere, and interactive RC puppies Chippies will be available from October.
