Mattel triumphs at 2017 LIMA Awards

Scoops top award in Toys, Games, Novelties and Role-Play category at LIMA International Licensing Awards

The licensing industry gathered in Las Vegas for the biggest awards ceremony of the year last night, as the winners of the 2017 LIMA International Licensing Awards were unveiled.

Mattel triumphed in the Toys, Games, Novelties and Role-Play category with its DC Super Hero Grils Action Figures. Warner Bros. Consumer Products was the night’s big winner, racking up a trio of wins for three of the company’s key brands across Licensing Programs. In addition, Hot Topic was awarded Retailer of the Year for Suicide Squad, marking the company’s second consecutive win in this category.

“This year’s award winners represent world-class licensing programs and products from around our global industry,” said LIMA President Charles Riotto. “We are proud to recognise and honour the achievements of these companies – chosen from a record 461 submissions this year – for their impressive initiatives and outstanding results.”

Overall, winners in 20 categories were announced during LIMA’s annual Awards Ceremony, held during the 2017 Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.
