Toy queen Tiana’s pop-up shop a hit
YouTube Kid’fluencer opened pop-up in Birmingham
Tiana’s pop-up shop in Birmingham’s Bullring and Grand Central was deemed a hit when it opened over Saturday and Sunday last weekend.
Thousands of fans turned up to get a glimpse of their idol and buy merchandise from her ‘Hearts By Tiana’ pop-up shop.
It was described by Birmingham Live, who covered the event, as a throw-back to when ‘80s pop star Tiffany performed her hit ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ to one of the biggest crowds the Bullring had previously seen.
The event was so over-subscribed, the organisers had to implement a wristband system for the second day for the safety and comfort of fans and other shoppers.
Visitors were estimated to be in excess of 10,000 over the two-day POP-UP with organisers The Social Store reporting a sell-out of many items of her merchandise.
The pop-up has been the first retail venture for the pint-sized superstar and comes just ahead of having her own dedicated ‘Hearts By Tiana’ stand at Brand Licensing Europe next month.
Ian Shepherd of The Social Store, who has developed the ‘Hearts By Tiana’ brand, said: “We were confident that the pop-upwas going to be a success, but no one could have prepared us for the sheer numbers of fans who turned up to not only see Tiana but wait in line to buy her merchandise after she left. The shop was heaving for the entire weekend.”
Shepherd continued: “Going into Brand Licensing with this experience behind us just confirms that the ‘Hearts By Tiana’ concept is a massive opportunity for all the potential partners we are lined up to see.”
He added: “We have learned a huge amount from the weekend and can’t wait to share our news and ideas. Tiana will be coming along to Brand Licensing Europe, but hopefully things will be a little easier to control – that said, we’ve already had plenty of requests from grown up members of the industry who are keen to get a picture of themselves with Tiana to show their kids!”
