BTHA unveils new 'Make Time to Play' campaign

The British Toy & Hobby Association is repeating its partnership with Play England on the Make Time to Play campaign.

The collaboration includes the launch of the Make Time to Play website – www.maketime2play.co.uk - in preparation for the Make Time to Play TV ads airing from the end of April through to the end of August.

The adverts will be aired through Turner, Nickelodeon, the Dolphin channels, Five and Disney and the BTHA would like to thank the channels for supporting the campaign again in its second year.

The campaign runs from today (18 April) through to the end of the year and offers parents ideas on how to spend time playing with their children, advice on toys and play for children of all ages and ideas for days out with the family. The site also explains why play is so important to a child’s development.

The website will be regularly updated with new ideas and seasonal play activities for all the family, as well as linking through to social media sites for more information and discussion.

Parents can get more ideas and join in discussions through Facebook and Twitter and will be able to view the ads and viral videos as they become available on Youtube.

BTHA members and other supporters in the toy industry are invited to get involved with the campaign throughout the year. The main PR campaign will take place later in May but the social media campaign involving Facebook and Twitter is already underway. To support the campaign contact Rebecca Eaglen at the BTHA for web banners to add to websites and emails.

For members with play events planned or involvement with local play projects, the BTHA is keen to publicise them and will have special offers and competitions available throughout the year.
