Five Alworths stores cease trading

Following the collapse of Alworths last month, five stores have now reportedly closed down.

Alworths was set up in 2009 by former Woolworths head of store and concession development Andy Latham in the wake of Woolies’ collapse. Many of the 17 stores in the chain were in the high street premises of the former retailer.

Retailers in Didcot, Oxfordshire have conformed that the Alworths store there ceased trading in early April. Originally administrator, Leonard Curtis, had said the stores would continue trading while a buyer was found.
