Lego's Hotel California

Lego announces plans to build a Lego-themed hotel at Legoland California

Legoland are about to begin building a massive 250-roomed hotel on their grounds in California, United States.

Following the success of the hotel at Legoland in Denmark, they are now turning their attention to the US.

The Lego themed-hotel is their company¹s most expensive investment yet, with Legoland General Manger Peter Ronchetti saying that the theme park is doing
well despite the economic crisis: "We've seen that the recovery in the hotel market is pretty much on track, so if we start now and open in 2013 the
hotel market will be in significantly better shape," he continues "We're also continuing to enjoy a steady curve of visitor volume growth. This
summer, we're significantly ahead of where we were last year, so for that reason we believe the formula is working, and it gives us more confidence to
build the hotel."

It is believed that the build could cost in excess of US$50m.
