BTHA unveils 2011 toy prospects
The 34 winners of the Toy Fair Best New Toys for 2011 were unveiled on the first day of Toy Fair 2011 by BTHA Chairman Christine Nicholls. Voted for by a panel of independent toy retailers, they are considered to be the toys with the most potential to make it on to children’s wish lists in 2011.
Other Best New Toy winners include Lego’s Hogwart’s Castle, the Solar Robot from Great Gizmos, Eggbods from Bluw and Character Options’ Zhu Zhu Puppies.
UK toy companies Vivid Toy Group and Spin Master were both triple-award winners. Peers Hardy, a winner in the Games/Puzzles category with the Maze Racer, is a first time exhibitor and Rebel Toys, who’s Rock Crawler Junior was selected in the Hobby category, is a Toy Fair Greenhouse exhibitor.
Licensed toys also fared well, with brands such as Ben 10, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, Bakugan, Harumika, Ben and Holly, JCB and Star Wars making an appearance across the 11 categories.
The Toy Fair Best New Toys 2011 are listed below and can be found on stand GH49. Between 1030 and midday, children posing as Toy Lab testers will be on hand to demonstrate the Best New Toys on stand GH49. Photographs and interviews can also be conducted during this time:
