Thomas & Friends retains pre-school crown
Thomas & Friends continues to reign as the UK’s number 1 pre-school toys property as revealed by NPD.
This is the 11th year the brand has held the coveted slot, which is based on EPOS data for toy sales gathered from major retailers across the country.
Rick Glankler, senior vice president, global brand management – Thomas & Thomas Division, EMEA, HIT Entertainment said: “2010 was an exceptional year for Thomas at retail and these results cement the brand’s position as the continued number one choice for pre-schoolers”.
In addition to strong toy sales, last year saw Thomas & Friends’ move to CG-animation, resulting in increased TV viewership and share on FIVE’s ‘Milkshake!’ alongside a 20 per cent rise in annual Home Entertainment sales.
As well as being the UK’s number 1 pre-school toys property, Thomas & Friends sits in pole position in other key markets around the world. These include the US, Germany, Australia, Korea and Japan.
