Ravensburger snaps up Driver Dan
Ravensburger has scooped the puzzle and traditional games rights to the popular pre-school character Driver Dan’s Story Train, and will launch its first products later this year.
Driver Dan’s Story Train has become one of the most popular programmes on CBeebies (based upon average audience size). In the programme’s key time slots (12.30-12.40pm and 6.00-6.10pm) Driver Dan recorded CBeebies highest share of children aged 4-6 and Mums with children aged 0-3. Following on from this success, 50 additional 10-minute episodes have been commissioned, together with a half-hour special. The programme continues to air on CBeebies, 7 days a week at 12.40pm.
Ravensburger will launch a giant floor puzzle and set of 3 in a box puzzles in time for the autumn/winter season, with other new developments in the pipeline for January 2012. MD Tim Hall commented: “We are delighted to be working with Andrew Kerr at Aoh!k on this delightful pre-school property. We were particularly attracted to the programme because of the story-telling contained within each episode, and the fantastically colourful and detailed imagery, which is just made for puzzles and games.”
