VTech announces biggest ever investment into pre-Christmas advertising
This year VTech is investing more than ever before in heavyweight TV
advertising to support its key launches in the run up to the
pre-Christmas sales period
This year will see a total of nine TV commercials for VTech products –
up from five VTech TV commercials in 2010. Advertising will focus on new
launches including the highly anticipated multi-media tablet for
children, the InnoTab, and the Kidizoom Twist, both hotly tipped to be
best sellers this Christmas. This year’s record ATL investment will
reach over 5000 children 4-6 TVR’s and over 4000 Housewife TVR’s.
Between August and November each child in the UK between 4-6 will see a
VTech TV commercial on average 46 times and each mum will see a VTech TV
commercial on average 42 times.
VTech’s revolutionary touch screen multi-media learning tablet for children aged 4-9 which is packed with child-friendly apps, educational games and creative activities - all brought together for the first time in a multi-function learning handheld device will be a major focus of the TV advertising. The InnoTab campaign will reach an impressive 85% of all adults with young children, that are predicted to see the advert an average of nine times. The launch will also feature V.O.D pre-roll advertising, in store POS and digital spend to increase the reach of the message.
Pre Christmas advertising will also support new Kidizoom Twist with an impressive 800 TVRs targeted at children between August to December, the next generation Kidizoom with a rotating ‘self-portrait’ lens that allows children to view pictures and film on the LCD screen as they take them. Set to be a popular stocking filler, Kidiminiz are a collection of six interactive pets which sing, dance and tell jokes to each other as well as doubling up as a 24hr alarm clock.
The new additions to the VTech Baby portfolio including the new VTech Toot-Toot Drivers range and the VTech 3-in-1 Zebra Scooter will also benefit from extensive TV advertising.

This year’s TV advertising will also be supported by a further five themed ad breaks which will include all the TV advertised products as well as 30 second sponsorship spots on Pop Girl TV for the Kidiminiz range. All activity will be supported by a high profile PR campaign, print advertising plus an increased focus on web activity and in-store POS.
