Kate & Mim-Mim debuts on CBeebies
FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment's new pre-school property produced and developed by Nerd Corps Entertainment
FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment’s brand new pre-school animated series, Kate & Mim-Mim premiered yesterday (4 Aug) on CBeebies, at 5.30pm.
The series follows the fantastical adventures of feisty five-year-old Kate and her toy bunny Mim-Mim as they travel to the fantasy world of Mimiloo, where Mim-Mim transforms into a larger-than-life playmate.
Kate & Mim-Mim is produced and developed by Nerd Corps Entertainment and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment holds the exclusive worldwide distribution and licensing rights to the property outside of Canada.
Ahead of its launch, thousands of pre-school children were enthralled at the Family Kingdom at Sunderland International Airshow when they were introduced to the magical bunny, Mim-Mim, in his very first character appearance ahead of the show’s TV premiere.
Families also flocked to the park for the chance to meet CBeebies superhero, Tree Fu Tom, who proved to be a major draw for the pre-schoolers.
In addition to the guest appearances by Mim-Mim and Tree Fu Tom, both shows were shown on the big screen in the main fly zone and both brands featured in the event map, which was distributed to over 100,000 people. The character appearances were also promoted online, through social media, in the press and in an email to Kidstart’s 1.6 million subscribers.
Tessa Moore, SVP Global Brand Management, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment said: “We were so pleased to work with the Sunderland International Airshow to bring our fantastic pre-school characters to young families at their event. The show allowed us to build our relationship with existing Tree Fu Tom fans and establish Mim-Mim as a character to watch ahead of the show’s premiere on CBeebies.”
Chris Alexander, Chief Operating Officer at Sunderland Live added: “We were delighted to have FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment on site at Sunderland International Airshow as part of this year’s brand new Roker Park Family Kingdom. Both of their characters went down extremely well with the staggering numbers of visitors that attended this year’s event and we look forward to building on this partnership in the future.”
The annual Sunderland International Airshow event, now in its 26th year, was attended by a record breaking 950,000 people over the three days with the new Family Kingdom credited in part for helping to drive the increase in visitors.
