Clive Crouch steps down from GMTV
GMTV’s chief operating officer, Clive Crouch, is moving on after 18 years at the breakfast television broadcaster.
Clive Crouch, who will be leaving at the end of the month said: “Having
joined GMTV a year before our launch I now feel the time is right for
me to move on.
“I enjoyed 15 years as sales and marketing director, presiding over
£1.150 billion of advertising income, before taking up the position of
chief operating officer in September 2007. GMTV is in great shape, and
I leave the business in the best possible place to meet the challenges
that lie ahead.
“GMTV has consistently punched above its weight to establish our
strengths across seven days of broadcasting both to adults and to
children, complimented by our three online websites. In the multi
channel, multi platform world, strong brands stand out and that’s
exactly what GMTV has achieved. I look forward to observing from a
distance its continued success.”
John Cresswell, ITV plc’s interim chief executive adds: “As part
of the original senior team who launched GMTV, Clive laid the
foundations for much of GMTV’s commercial success as it outperformed
the market despite a declining broadcasting environment. Clive has also
made an enormous contribution to independent television in a career
that has seen him work for Scottish Television, Ulster Television, LWT
and TV-AM.
“In the last few years, Clive as chief operating officer has
steered GMTV through some challenging times and he has been a huge
source of advice and support over the last three months. Clive is a
true professional, and a valued colleague and we all wish him well."
