News from Across the Pond: Bah-Humbug! Toys 'R' Us sales just so-so

The US arm of Toys 'R' US which traditionally racks up over 40% of its annual sales during the holidays, said total U.S. sales for the five weeks ended December 31 fell 1.2% from a year earlier as it opened fewer temporary pop-up stores during the 2011 holiday season.
The toy giant faces, stiff competition in the shape of Wal-Mart which surged in the toy arena in the 2011 Christmas period after a poor showing in 2010.
Toys "R" Us said its international sales rose 5.1% in December.
