The online retailer has also reported a traffic increase to the site since the cold snap took hold of Britain earlier this week.
As well as increased sales of winter warmers, sales of outdoor toys are also enjoying a boost and the Arctic Force Snow Blaster and Snow Boogie Sledges are proving to be firm favourites.
The growth suggests consumers are preparing for a longer lasting Arctic
blast than predicted, and are spending their shopping hours online
rather than traipsing outdoors.
As the country battens down the hatches, anticipating a further drop in temperature, Firebox has noticed a virtual footfall increase 15% in the last two weeks ending 31st January, suggesting that consumers are snuggling up with a laptop instead of bracing themselves for a high street shop.
