Flair rejoice as Andrew Brown returns after his epic Atlantic row
World record-breaking rower is back on deck for Flair
World record-breaking Atlantic rower Andrew Brown returned to work this week, much to the relief of colleagues who celebrated his achievements with a cake in the shape of his famous boat JJ.
Since leaving Flair’s Cheam office in November last year on his quest to conquer the Atlantic single-handed Andrew Brown has astounded and instilled proud and admiration in the whole industry with his achievement.
40 days later he landed safely in Barbados as a world record-holder, raising £135,000 for The Toy Trust and Help a Capital Child and after a just a few days rest was to be seen at Olympia supporting his colleagues at Toy Fair.
Now after countless interviews and a couple of weeks of hearty meals and catching up on much needed sleep, Flair’s very own hero has returned to his desk in the company’s marketing department and says: "During the challenge I lived with my boat, talked to my boat and at times felt married to my boat but at no times did I believe that it would come to me eating her!"
Speaking of his return Lindsay Hardy, Marketing Services Director, says: “This is no ordinary return to work - Andrew has achieved something extraordinary that the rest of us can only imagine and we are all very proud of him, and so some of his colleagues set about celebrating his first day back by making a replica of his boat in cake form. He does need feeding up a bit having lost three stone at sea – he’s quite a bit slimmer than he was when he left us!”
