Spring Fair goes great guns
Spring Fair International 2012 attracts over 63,500 retailers with world-class exhibitors and stunning new product launches
Despite bad weather many thousands of retailers from around the UK attended the NEC show, Spring Fair, to take a look at 300,000 brand new products launched by 3,000 exhibitors at the 2012 show.
In fact, the show statistics state that a total of 63,500 buyers attended the show, including 6,000 from overseas.
Senior House of Fraser representative Chris Pitts gave the show his seal of approval: "We were really impressed with the new layout of Spring Fair. The editing has transformed our buying experience at the show, making it easier for us to see products that are right for our business. I was particularly impressed with the range of new companies we’ve seen here."
The show underwent a transformation this year, notably, with the hall change for Toys from 5 to 3. The Hall also featured the Licensing Lounge at the Party Show where leading dress-up supplier Rubies Masquerade sponsored a fabulous catwalk feature called The Stage.
Speaking after the show had closed its doors on Thursday February 9, the managing director of Emap Connect Home & Gift Louise Young says: “The resilience of retail has really shone through this year, with buyers making it to the show despite some particularly severe weather conditions across the country.
“Those retailers who braved the adverse conditions were amply rewarded with a first sight of countless stunning new product launches showcased on some of the most inspirational stand designs I’ve ever seen.
“We have now embarked on the journey to raise the bar at Spring Fair, but this is just the start. Businesses that took part this year have already been feeding back to us on how we can further improve the event, and we will be working hand-in-hand with them to take the 2013 show experience to
another level for both exhibitors and visitors”.
