The Entertainer grabs another accolade

The Entertainer wins the national Pay and Benefits Workplace Giving Award

The award comes just one year after The Entertainer implemented the scheme.

Managing Director, Gary Grant, says: "Here at The Entertainer we are committed to giving back to the communities in which we trade, so I am really encouraged to see large numbers of our staff choosing to regularly support their chosen charity through monthly payroll giving. This method of donating is both time and tax efficient and I am so glad their generosity has been recognised by receiving the Pay & Benefits Award for Most Effective Workplace Giving Scheme."

The Entertainer was approached about a year ago by the 'Geared for Giving Campaign' and invited to introduce a Workplace Giving scheme. This is an easy to administer, tax efficient way for staff to support charities of their choice from their pay, in order to make a difference.

Gary, continues: "This has been an amazing success due to firstly, our staff embracing the concept,  and secondly, - and I think most importantly - the enthusiasm and competence of Workplace Giving UK in visiting our staff throughout our branch network.  Over 25% of our staff now give monthly amounts ranging upwards from £5.00 per month, to a wide variety of charities. Their engagement has been greater than with anything we have ever launched,  including free company pensions!

We are not an investment bank or a big city firm; we are a family business, growing steadily, employing honest, hard working people. Yet the response to the launch of the scheme has been amazing; it just shows that even when times are tough most people really want to support the most vulnerable members of our community. We have chosen to match our staff’s giving by adding 50% to their monthly donation, which will have had a positive impact – but it still needs an individual to be willing to give in this way!"
