Nintendo files successful patent for remote control toy system

Nintendo has been granted a new patent for "a remotely controlled mobile device control system." Essentially, the patent calls for clipping a Wiimote controller into a remotely controllable toy, which could then interact with a game console.

The patent, which was filed back in 2011, was granted this week, and comes as a welcome success after the company lost a $30 million lawsuit over a patent for their market-leading handheld, the 3DS.
