Fi?ures breaks 300k
Playmobil has announced that Fi?ures has exceeded expectations by selling more units in the UK than any other previous Playmobil toy
Although only launched this August, over 300,000 Fi?ures have been sold to date, amounting to a value in excess of £600,000. This marks a major milestone for the German toymaker as Fi?ures is the first Playmobil toy to sell above 100,000 units in the UK.
The impressive performance of the £1.99 toy has led Playmobil to predict pocket money toys will perform well in Christmas purchasing; especially as parents are looking for toys that will excite and surprise, stand the test of time, and demonstrate value for money.
Announcing the results at the annual Dream Toys event, Graham Brennan, Commercial Director for Playmobil commented: “We had very high expectations for Fi?ures and are thrilled to see boys and girls are enjoying and actively collecting the characters in the series. For many children stockings are just as important as the main Christmas gift and this is where we foresee a strong performance in the pocket money market.
“Children love the excitement of not knowing which character is in the mystery bag. Additionally, the opportunity to assemble, take apart, or mix and match body parts and accessories delivers hours of creative play. This is why these toys have been extremely popular in the playground and will be a success this Christmas.”
The second series of Playmobil Fi?ures is set to launch in early 2012.
