Franklin AnyBook Reader
Franklin, best known for its electronic reference products, has announced the release of AnyBook Reader. This new product has been produced to make learning to read a far more exciting and rewarding task, for both parents and children.
Similar products are dependent on specially encoded books for a recorder pen to work, but AnyBook Reader is unique in that it can be used with any book. This lowers the cost of ownership and does not restrict the user to specifically coded books.
AnyBook Reader enables the reader to add their own character voices and personalities, or even add their own funny sound effects to make stories more entertaining for the child. AnyBook reader is also designed to help children learn the correct word pronunciation and spelling.
Children will be able to play back and enjoy the audio at anytime, wherever they are. Parents may want to record in another language to teach their child new languages, or even record revision notes into a school textbook or library book.
AnyBook Reader uses a simple touch, record, and playback process. A special optical reader, built into the tip, reads unique codes imbedded in the designs of the stickers included with AnyBook reader. When a voice recording is associated with a sticker placed on a page, AnyBook reader stores the recording and 'remembers' which unique sticker code has been associated with the recording. Touch the sticker again and AnyBook reader will play back the correct recording.
AnyBook Reader comes with 40 pre-recorded stickers with fun sounds and 220 stickers you can use for your own recordings. Stickers will not leave a messy residue on the pages and can be taken off and reapplied with ease, they are also re-recordable. Extra blank stickers are available for purchase from Franklin.
There are two versions of AnyBook reader, one will store 15 hours of playback in its memory, the other will store 60 hours.
