New Top Trumps card pack in time for The Queen's jubilee
Those cheeky chappies and chapettes at Top Trumps have named Kate Middleton as the Queen’s “favourite” Royal in a brand new ‘Diamond Jubilee “One’s Favourite Things” Top Trumps’ pack, out next week.

The pack, launched tomorrow – exactly 60 days to the Queen’s 60th Jubilee anniversary – also names David Cameron as her “favourite” PM and “Chelsea” as her favourite football club. They go on shop shelves on Wednesday April 4th.
There is also an App too which will be available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch towards the end of April.
The TOP Top Trumps card of the 30 in the pack is Prince Phillip. The BOTTOM one is the Queen’s bank.
That means statistically if you have Prince Phillip in your hand you will win a lot, but if you have the bank card you may well go bust! The bank – Coutts – gets a high rating in the age category (320) but a zero in two of the other four sections.
The commemorative edition could also raise more arched eyebrows over its’ naming of Chelsea FC as “One’s Favourite Football Club”.
“Blue is the Queen’s colour because it’s her local team – the nearest club to Buckingham Palace,” insists a spokesperson for Top Trumps makers Winning Moves UK, owner, maker and distributer of the card game which this month also has a landmark celebration – it is exactly 35-years-old.
The pack features 30 of “One’s Favourite Things” – a card for each two years of the Queens reign.
It names Her Majesty’s “favourite”:
‘CORGI’ – Susan, given to her as an 18th birthday present by her mum and dad, King George V1 and The Queen Mother.
‘ROYAL’ - Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge for her PR shot in the Royal Family’s arm.
‘PM’ - David Cameron.
‘CORNER SHOP’ – Harrods. It says on this card the luxury store is somewhere the Queen can despatch “her butler to if she runs out of milk on a Sunday morning”.
‘BANK’ - Coutts.
‘OUTFIT’ – a pink number, designed by Stewart Parvin who has designed some of her most stylish outfits including for Royal Ascot and meeting the Obamas.
‘COUPLE’ - King George V1 and the Queen Mother, her beloved mum and dad.
‘TV SHOW’ - Coronation Street, of course! A renowned must-see at Buckingham Palace.

David Cameron – it is explained on the card – is her favourite PM because once Buckingham Palace was “rumoured” as hailing him as a “remarkable young man during his early political career”.
The pack is being released worldwide from tomorrow and comes exactly a year after a Royal Wedding pack in which Kate Middleton boldly, and in the US at the time very controversially, “trumped” Princess Diana in the fashion stakes.
The royal corgi card featuring Susan is intriguing. Susan was given to the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, as an 18th birthday present from her parents and the pet went on to found a dynasty of corgis that still roam the Royal Family's homes, ten generations in all of royal corgis.
The five ranking categories in the cards whereby you can “trump” your opponent player are: ‘Age’; ‘Magic Moment’; ‘Pomp and Ceremony’; ‘Off Duty’; ‘Queentessential’.
The categories see the Corgi coming out TOP dog in the ‘off duty’ stakes – described by the makers “as a time when the Queen puts her feet up!” – ahead of her husband Prince Philip. However HE tops another category – Magic Moments, when they got married in Westminster Abbey on 20th November 1947.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, gets maximum points – ten out of ten – in the Queentessential’ section. This is described by the makers as “items, events or people the Queen just cannot do without”. She beats Susan the Corgi, her “favourite” tipple Gin and Dubonnet and Britannia, which is “One’s Favourite Yacht”.
The Duchess also scores extremely highly in the ‘Pomp and Ceremony’ category – 19 out of 20. This section is described by the makers as “how spectacular an event or person is or was”. She beats the Diamond Jubilee Concert, Prince Philip, Harrods and the Queen’s Birthday.
The Winning Moves spokesperson adds: "We have studied just about every word ever printed about the Queen – and every body language – and we feel this pack is definitive. It has taken a dedicated team a wonderful fulfilling age putting it all together. We are absolutely delighted with it.”
