Wham-O named official Frisbee supplier to UK Ultimate
Flying disc sport’s UK governing body to support nation’s schools
Wham-O Europe Ltd has been appointed an official supplier of Frisbee to UK Ultimate by the National Governing Body for the sport of Ultimate in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Wham-O Europe will offer official Wham-O Frisbees to schools across the country and support the Frisbee@schools programme, a Wham-O Europe and UK Ultimate partnership, which work to grow the Ultimate flying disc sport in schools.
With hundreds of thousands of fans across the world, Ultimate is a rapidly growing sport in the UK. To compete at the highest level, Ultimate players require speed, agility and endurance. Yet beginners find the game easy to learn and fun to play. Simply grab a Frisbee, get out there, and play. Open to all levels of experience and easy to set up and play, Ultimate is the ideal sport for any school.
The ‘Frisbee@schools’ programme, will support the flying disc sport by offering official Wham-O Frisbees to schools along with information and instructions of how to introduce Ultimate as a school sport.
UK Ultimate is also inviting schools to take part in the new UKU Schools National Championships Series. "UKU Schools" is a new competition series that brings together local and inter-schools competitions running across the UK, so that the winning teams qualify for the National Finals. Using an adapted version of the game to make it easier for schools to pick up and play, UKU Schools will feature shorter games, smaller teams and flexible pitch sizes!
Schools affiliating with UK Ultimate will be supported with guidance on how to play, how to join the championships and special availability of Wham-O Frisbees through UK Ultimate.
